Michael Hool & other Phoenix experts to help entrepreneurs with Friday Twitter chat on Jobs Act

Join Michael Hool and four local experts on Twitter from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 24. Search for the official hashtag #JOBSactChat.

The Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act, or JOBS Act, was intended to encourage small business and startup funding by easing securities regulations. However, the law and SEC rules have caused confusion and differing interpretations among local startups and investors.

The topic is the subject of my cover story in the upcoming Jan. 24 weekly edition of the Phoenix Business Journal.
The Twitter chat will be moderated by Invest Southwest, the local behind the state’s largest venture capital conference as well as Venture Madness, the bracket-style, head-to-head business competition that will pit entrepreneurs against one another in March.

The experts and their Twitter handles are:
Jonathan Ariano (@jonathanariano), an attorney and partner with Osborn Maledon PA (@osbornmaledon) in Phoenix and chairman of Invest Southwest (@Invest_SW).
Thom Brodeur (@thombrodeur), executive vice president of venture management at Tallwave (@tallwave) in Scottsdale.
Steve Zylstra (@szylstra), president and CEO of the Arizona Technology Council (@AZTechCouncil) in Phoenix.
Michael Hool, an attorney and managing partner of the Hool Law Group (@hoollaw) in Phoenix.
