Who will win the Startup Territorial Cup?

In 2015, the U of A startup team Infinurja, a company that designs, produces and sells products that use organic waste to generate electricity, took home the Territorial Trophy at the Arizona Collegiate Venture Competition (ACVC).

On April 8, we are excited to watch 11 new startup teams from the four Arizona universities, ASU, U of A, NAU and GCU, go head-to-head in the 4th annual ACVC pitch competition. These teams are vying for a piece of $60,000 in cash prizes and scholarships, along with bragging rights and the Startup Territorial Cup Trophy.

Last year we filled a ASU Skysong venue with investors, influencers, students and representatives from incubators and accelerators, and expect a larger crowd this year.

Together with MAC6, we are excited for Draper University (Draper) to join us this year as a co-sponsor.

Draper was founded by legendary Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tim Draper in 2012. To date, Draper has created over 250 startups that have raised more than $50 million, funded by some of the most prestigious investors, including Marc Andreessen, Tim Draper, and Marc Benioff.

We are incredibly excited and honored to have Draper University as a partner and we look forward to many great announcements soon about the interests and partnership of Draper in our ecosystem.

Draper will be matching scholarships from the sponsors, each valued at $10,000 (which includes expense money from sponsors). A total of $40,000 will be awarded in scholarships alone. Along with the cash prizes, the total awarded in the competition will exceed $60,000. The entrepreneurs who win scholarships will reside on the Draper campus in Silicon Valley for an intensive world-class 7 week entrepreneurship experience.

We believe this connection with Draper provides a great bridge between Arizona startups and top Silicon Valley Investors.

Whether you’re a fan of Sparky, Wilbur/Wilma, Thunder or the Lumberjack, or just a person with a great idea, this event will fire up your entrepreneurial spirit!  The event is FREE!

We look forward to meeting you at the ACVC!
